Can I use a rubber type seal over a wick seal for 98 5ltr club sport? I'm told by a new mechanic I'm seeing if it's a wick seal now then we'll do a wick seal. I don't want to be ripped off.

Just wondering if you still have the motor and box etc with 106ks for sale still,
I changed my motor and box in the car not long ago and I think the box is on its way out The person I brought it from told me it had done only 120thousand ks but my problem has come back again and im guessing its the box,It stutters when it heats up you put your foot down when doing a 100 and the revs go up but im not going any faster and it feels sluggish then you have to drop down to 20kmh after a bit to keep driving,
As this is the second time happening im starting to think its electrical as my right hand headlight keeps blowing nd I mean once a week it willl blow so im thinking this could also be a factor but as stated i changed the motor and box over a month ago and it was fine and now its doing it again,
Please help,
