There are 2 green wires....A thin green which goes to the oil pressure switch....

If the car doesn't start, there is a thick green wire out of the distributer which goes to the negative of the coil

The car ran great then when I went to start it the next day, it just cranks over & no spark to plugs. I have replaced the coil & still no spark. I have 12v to the + & - side of coil & discovered this thick green wire but couldn’t see where it had come out of. As far as i could see the coil just had 2 red wires screwed to it, one on + & the other on negative. So you reckon it just goes on the next side as well. I can give it a go 2mrw

That thick green wire comes out of the distributer....It goes from the distributer to the negative of the coil....Without it connected, the car won't start

There should be 2 red wires going to the positive of the coil...One thick wire comes from the firewall loom, just right of centre, via a white connector block....The 2nd wire comes from the distributer...

The green wire out of the distributer connects to the negative of the coil....If you undo the 2 phillips head screws from the rectangular box on the side of the distributer, you should be able to trace where the green wire comes from

Unfortunately no wires coming out of the dizzy as it’s the electronic est type (pics attached). The wire trails back into the main wiring harness, so I don’t think it’s related to the no start & maybe a spare connection. Changed the est module in the passenger side kick well, still no start. Also made a wire direct from the battery to + side of coil, still no spark. Checked fuses & all good there. Any other ideas would be appreciated. Also tried shifting auto from park to 1st a few times & no spark in park or neutral.

Last EST system I had, I chucked the dizzy over the shoulder and bolted in an electronic one.

From memory, there is a pick up in the middle at the back of the head, that picks up the signal from the flywheel....That might be worth checking out.

I also see you live in Blackwood...I live in the Northern Burbs of Adelaide and have a few electronic dizzies laying round....If needed, I could help out there.....

Anyways, try the pick up bolted to the back of the head and go from there

I just had a quick look at a wiring diagram for the engine bay of a VK and the only dark green seems to come from the EST module...From the module it goes into a compressor of some sorts....

Capacitor?

States in the manual, compressor.

Goes from Dark Green at the EST module to Yellow back to dark green onto the compressor....

Back 15 to 20 years ago, I had a VK with this sort of dizzy and it got turfed over the shoulder and an electronic one got put in its place.....

Just had to disconnect the pick up at the back of the head, bolt the electronic dizzy in, fit the 2 dizzy wires onto the coil and away you go...
