Not really... I did have an issue originally with windows 8 and wol but I found there was actually settings in my bios that was switching off the LAN completely when the computer was off.

As a thought... My PC never hibernates, its either on or off... Does yours hibernate and then power down after awhile? Perhaps yours is a similar issue to me but because it hibernates first it allows to wol until its off completely.

Keep in mind, I'm far from being an IT specialist.

No hibernation mode. Its either on or off. I even played around with the BIOS and disabled 'Deep Sleep' but no love.
