Ive had this same issue VS 6cyl auto ute.
Puts up MIL, read codes, 15, but temp guage reads ok, and replaced both temp sensors, all tests ok.
Car goes ok, but l believe is slightly richer due to ECU response to fault.
Beaten me so far.
Thanks daveb for schemetic!

If it does that its the ecu temp sensor or wiring that's stuffed given you've replaced the sensor. Possible dud new sensor but could be wiring also.

That happens to ensure cooling as the ecu doesn't know the engine temp regardless if cold or hot, starting again after a drive.

I ended up checking the resistance of the wires for the CTS from the ecu to the plug if you look at the diagram the wiring is also connected to the TPS so i also checked that plug which all checked out.

Purchased a tridon CTS from repco and installed it. Now not throwing any codes and it seems like the issue has gone. I'll drive it for a few days and make sure the gremlins are gone!

Thanks for everyone's help

You just need thin split pin or piece of wire to bridge pins 5 & 6 above brake pedal then read codes...dont have use a scanner

What l figured.
But l also only see 1 temp sensor in schemetic.
Temp guage works ok, so the switchy one is my problem circuit.
Now the fun really starts.

There is two temp sensors one for the PCM and one for the guage.
