I've just had a crow cam delivered and can confirm they still use blanks as my cam had a 1.5 month delay as they were waiting on fresh cam cores to come from the US for production.

From their website:

In terms of Cam quality Crow is right up there compared to Crane imo, the lifters though seem to be pretty hit and miss.

My last Crane cam had some mild pitting on the lobes and the overall finish/quality of the cam just looked cheap and nasty compared to Crane's of old....it still broke in and ran fine but I'd question it's long term reliability.

Apparently most of Cranes stuff comes out of China now.
Shame Crow have problems with their valve springs. I wonder if they now roll their own from cheap Chinese steel or buy them from somewhere in Asia?

Yeah it's dissapointing, seems the only thing of value is the cams themselves.

I use the Crane/Blue Racer LT1 springs in most of the 5L's I work on which are doing less than .500 lift, yet to see one bind, break, weaken etc and a really really good price.

In 2020/2021 I bought an off the shelf crow cam....Got the spec sheet saying when it was done....So far no problems with it, so happy with that.

I did hear, crow cams are on a downhill slope with quality...

If it's any consolation, my last crow cam had a set of lifters with those little pits in them.

And I just checked my new ones I have on the shelf for a future build, they are the same. However I also have a Comp Cam + lifters on the shelf for another build for a mate and those are perfect.....must be a crow thing.

My current crow 12 months on still going strong......must just be the way the crow lifters are these days.

Unfortunately hearing a lot of horror stories about cams/lifters lately. :(
That's good to know, thanks
