There are Chinese and US Delphi lifters. I don't know if Johnson do a lifter for the 308 but if they do you won't go wrong with those. A machine shop is you best bet. I don't hold a lot of faith in Crow products now I know they sell poor valve springs that snap more often than some brands.

Heard of a few blokes getting machinists to resurface their old name brand lifters...good if you're an old revhead & parts hoarder but not many of us are these days.
Reply, yeah I'm fairly new to this. But the ones that were in it are not stock and a unknown brand.

I decided to take one apart as I don't have a lot of faith in them now. A couple of them had actually doubled up on the metering discs, having two instead of one...

Can you not get Johnson for the 202?

It would be worth asking your engine machine shop. Where are you located?

@07GTS might know of an engine shop near you that might be able hook you up with some US lifters. Online buying is fraught with danger.

Apparently quality control is a problem now even with brand name flat tappet lifters. Probably the same with cams as well.

I think a lot of the nuance and tolerances required for flat tapper cams aren’t being adhered to and they are just banging any old **** out that saves them money and increases their profit margins.
