    Time for a new project!

I have reached out to the South Korea place to see if they have any new ones in stock as well, no response yet. I'll DM the brain eater. Cool good luck. The first time I purchased from them I asked for a postage quote and then told me how much and how to pay them. After a week or 2 I messaged...

    Time for a new project!

Very true Fu Manchu, otherwise it may fail engineering plus be annoying. So here’s the part numbers. I don’t know what is what. There would have been 2 or 3 versions at a guess, all projectors

    Time for a new project!

Here’s the whole assembly, you may need the shield thing underneath also. Unless the GTO one is compatible or the same

I’ve bought a couple of things...

    VT iss problem

Good chance they will go to either the fuel pump relay or to a fuse to get power for the ISS itself. Honestly your working in the dark here, I haven’t found any documented info on how it’s wired, just the functions and key coding info. Just take note of the exact pin on the fuel pump relay or...

    BCM and slip ring

Also I believe the difference with Engine Control Module (ECM) and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is the ECM just controls engine functions and not transmission stuff. Probably makes it easier for models to have different drivetrains like how the VZ had so many different combinations. They had...

    BCM and slip ring

Sorry if I’m confused but if your running an ls1 pcm removing vats is simple and only a 10 min job. I use an AVT cable/box but pcmhammer has been updated to support OBDLink obd dongles. Just use tunerpro to edit bin and remove VATS. Disregard this message if I’ve gotten confused, if you need...

    BCM and slip ring

Yes all the bcms have the same pinout and all speak the same language. Just some functions may not operate correctly and good chance of a DTC if for example a wagon one was used in a sedan. I’ve also seen people on this site mention that certain bcms require certain airbag modules but I have no...

    BCM and slip ring

HPTuners or vcm suite would be required to disable VATS. I don’t believe tuner pro supports VZ. Or one of those modules designed by one of the guys at pcm hacking

You’re welcome and good luck. If you remember maybe make a note of it here after you try so others can do the same in the future

    BCM and slip ring

That sux. Pretty sure Snap-on scan tools can do it. I’ve got a PDF that shows the steps required and there’s no mention of any TIS type stuff other than needing the security code which it can also retrieve. My Solus Edge has it but I’ve personally never tried. But at around 8k you’d be better...

    BCM and slip ring

Progress at least. Do you need TIS approval to link modules on the VZ with a Tech2?

    Alloytech temp guage problems

Man that sucks, for what it’s worth whack a new radiator cap on her. They don’t last forever and there’s always a chance it could have failed or as I said about bleeding the system. I don’t have a VZ V6 and I’m just trying to suggest things that may help. Shame it’s not a simple job to just test...

Is there a way I can connect a music playing device?

Yep. Pull the cover off the LHS of the console. One screw under passenger seat about half way down the console. And 2 screws inside the glovebox obviously on the RHS. I can provide the pinout if you want to go this route
  15. slipknot09

Is there a way I can connect a music playing device?

There is a factory aux in under the console. It was designed for mobile phones to make and receive calls. Just buy the factory Bluetooth module, it won’t play in stereo only mono. You could also rig up a cable to connect your phone physically but again it’ll just be mono. (If you decide this...

    Alloytech temp guage problems

Ok, that just complicates it more. You don’t have a fan stuck on or anything? It’s unlikely but possible. Is your radiator cap functioning properly? Does your cooling system need to be bled? Maybe whip your thermostat out and chuck it in the microwave I don’t have an alloytech so I’m not sure...

    BCM and slip ring

Can the tech2 program MAP keys? You would think the procedure would be similar, I have no idea what commands those dongles send but it must automatically retrieve the security code and then attempt the programming. Is it possible your bcm has been changed in the past? Would that change your...

    Alloytech temp guage problems

I’d have to agree with the above message about the thermostat stuck open. Check the temp through the Engineering mode in the dash cluster. Hold down Mode and Set while turning key to ignition on. You can also drive while in Engineering mode and you can scroll through the available data by...

VY Commodore ABS and Check Engine

Might be worth probing the OBD connector to see if it’s working properly. Fuses all good? Got the original key? Is the PCM linked to PIM What scantool have you been using?

    Dash doesn't beep anymore

Here’s a schematic of the instrument cluster. I haven’t found a photo yet tho sorry. It shows the chime is internal though.
  24. slipknot09

    Dash doesn't beep anymore

I was referring to the message under yours. But it’s not the same circuit. The mode switch is a 5v circuit and the cluster reads the different voltages from the individual switches pressed. Same setup as the steering wheel controls, known as a resistor ladder
  25. slipknot09

    Dash doesn't beep anymore

Come to think of it, I don’t remember seeing a speaker either but that’s where it is. You can test the speaker with engineering mode on VY/VZ, Tech2 or cluster software. It’s definitely not inside the mode switch as I’ve pulled many apart.
  26. slipknot09

    Dash doesn't beep anymore

I think you might be right. Hopefully a non functioning cluster pops up on eBay for you. Sometimes cheap when they pop up. Maybe grab a used cluster first and see if you could handle the soldering job yourself before pulling yours out. If you aren’t confident take the two clusters to someone...

VS Statesman Caprice V6 Won't turn over after flat battery.

All good. I have no idea about Club stuff. Sorry I noticed your rear bar is missing. If I remember correctly they used the same bar cover as the wagon in case you were chasing one. There was a bit of work though

    Climate control

It may not be the climate control, is it possible it’s just the thermo fan? Have you heard the compressor cycle?, it’ll click as the clutch turns on and off. Which relay are you removing to stop the fan out of curiosity? I might be way off track, but I’m just trying to help narrow it down
  33. slipknot09

VS Statesman Caprice V6 Won't turn over after flat battery.

Ok. Good luck. The key battery is not required to start unless the little knob on the key fob isn’t in contact with the chrome slipring that surrounds the ignition barrel. That contact is how the bcm communicates with the key, just double check both surfaces are clean and touching. Also double...

    VT iss problem

I believe some of it is under the dash, but won’t require dash removal. It connects to the a connector in the engine bay, top RHS, the BCM above fuse panel as well as others. I do have 1 or 2 of them already and possibly even lay it out and take a few pictures to show you
  37. slipknot09

    L67 conversion

Yeah I do remember the engine harness does need work extending a few wires. There’s a actual module which mounts in the quarter somewhere I think to run the fuel pump I think. Have you got the engine ECU?
  38. slipknot09

    ABS module serial numbers

Also, there is a diagnostic procedure that can be done using the OBD2 port. With a paper clip and watching the ABS light flash. I posted the instructions a few weeks ago in another ABS issue thread
  39. slipknot09

    ABS module serial numbers

I don’t know if VZ and VY are similar, but with the VY any module will work if the software and VAP number in the software are the same. The external part number isn’t as important. Manual to Auto doesn’t matter but with need to have same traction/stability setup. There’s a wrecker in Canberra...
  40. slipknot09

    L67 conversion

I’ve never done it personally but I think the supercharged cars had a fuel pump module, so you should figure that out and possibly the wiring to run that, plus the engine ecu (plus linking it) I no doubt think a few guys would have done it. Do you have the car the engine come out? Also surely...
