18x8, 225mm Nankang Ar1's.. Picking them up next weekend,

I really really want to be faster then my mate in his Mx5 :D
You'll be amazed at the difference, just watch the tyre wear and tyre pressures.

You will probably need more camber.

Yep I'm in for a treat!

I can get ~ -2.5 degrees on each axle with my current setup, Will get that dialed in before driving up to Syd.

On another note, I see you can still get those K-Mac strut top adjusters that appear good for another degree or so, does anyone know if they can they be used with a strut bar in place or do you run out of room / thread?

One must simply have duck face when picking up new semi slicks.

Had forgotten how great these things smell! DELICIOUS!

Also, ended up being $1200. That is $200 more then I paid for the VY pre covid, but calling a great success. Tyres are about 6 laps old, rims look brand new. Absolutely will now be running out of pads, best bring a couple of sets with me to Sydney...

Oh picked them up from a friendly chap neer Bendigo, Rollermotive Service Centre, Kyneton.

Chap runs a BEAUTIFUL Blue VL he bought with an RB30 of a P plater years ago, now a shmick looking E85 V8 powered sport sedan track weapon. Incidentally, He was finishing work on a customers VK Group C replica. Commodore cup rear end, 353cu, freshly painted list goes on and on and on and on. Guy whom he is finshing the build for has lost interest and it will be for sale shortly, running Grp C VK Replica, ~35k.

BARGAIN!

Chap there has a sick little workshop, dyno, all the works. Looks really good.

RE003 in 235 and the AR1's in 225.

Given the square profile of the AR1's, it looks like it will have more contact even if it's technically "thinner".

Maaaaad.

They really are the nicest wheel surely. And they actually probably look small in the arch compared to current trends, but I'm kinda ok with that.

I'd show you the front but not even my rattle gun would take the nuts off .. Mechanic must have used an entire tanks worth of O2 on each nut. :S Given that it's raining I'll wait till the morning before I try kicking my chrome socket oh a sketchy square bar extension tube...

Well its nearly the weekend before, getting excited for Sydney once again :D

I'm super excited to see how all the mods have added up. Long term forecast looks promising too so they slicks should get a work out.

I've been super lazy of late and the nugget has been driving me to and from work each day. It's getting a little tappy tappy again, due to take the rockers off and re tighten the bolts I suppose. Fingers cross no surprises when I do..

I realize I haven't had the racing seat in after it was converted to manuel , I best chuck it in and confirm I can still depress the clutch completely.

But now, alignment scheduled for Monday, fresh pads and oil on order, time to think about the tools I'll need and give it a wash and a polish.

Broken antenna, check,
badge falling off, check,
cloudy headlight, check,
A 3yr warranty, check.

Yep. All within specs, looking forward to the weekend :D

Best $1000 dollars I ever spend pre-covid on this 280k ecowreck cruiser. Going to be a blast.

Weather looks like it could do just about anything, but I have choices now with the RE003's on it, and the AR1's in the back.

Come say hi Sydney Peeps, have a look toward what its all about, then come racing next year :) We in Garage 25 with "Grumpy Racing" free entry and there is a car show on the Sunday I think it is?

To think you can drive these things 1,000km's go bounce it off it's limiter for a weekend and drive it home again. It wont even go through a set of pads, to easy.

Brilliant.
