Sometimes there are those little workshop hacks that make life easier and worth remembering for a rainy day. Post up your favourite hacks.

I might try this with an old diff pinion bearing.

Not a hack but if a rotor is stuck on the hub, it's easier to pull the hub off with the rotor attached for removal, than bashing the rotor in place on the car.

I use a long 10mm bolt through the caliper mount, with a nut between the mount and rotor.
Screwing the bolt in will break the rotor loose.

Pouring paint, put two wide bits of masking tape across the rim in a V shape. Have the tape hang over a bit. And fold the bits over each other. That forms a spout. Then you peel off the tape and no drips, the lid will seal because no paint in the rim.

Are they the plastic things that push into the rim on the tin?

Train your kids in all spanner, socket and screwdriver sizes

They are great free labour when working on your cars, especially when your working under a car on jack stands

no.... its is actually a paint tin lid (plastic and steel varieties available)
but with
a resealable flip top part on the lid (bit like the pull top on a can of beer BUT resealable after you pour)

reusable for the whole time you are pouring paint for a job, when finished put the original lid back on
(and wash off and store it in the shed 'til next time)

Available in 1 litre and 4 litre can sizes
