Misleading comment. A failed coolant temp Sender (single wire) will not cause overfueling, but will cause the temperature gauge to be faulty. The comment is correct for the coolant temp Sensor (two wire).
If you read my earlier comment I already explained the 2 sensors. And also the single wire sensor does not feedback to the ecu, therefore checking the live data with a scan tool will give you the information required from the correct coolant temp sensor. So not misleading at all.

What do you need a scanner for?

Stick a bit of wire in pins 5 & 6 above brake pedal...read codes.

Do search on forum or look up how on youtube,

Well he has already tried a coolant temp sensor so its a non issue now. But a coolant temp sensor can still be within the ecus acceptable temperature range but the incorrect temperature, so no codes will log for it. The other way is to check resistance of sensor at different temps and compare to the resistance vs temp chart

Can come out of range to still log a fault....aftermarket tps known for it.

Does dude know how to check codes without scanner or find out what the codes are?

If he doesn't know something that simple then he don't know jack about thses cars.

And no scan tool but checked fault codes and only comes up with 12 which is supposed to system good?
How long did you wait?

It will flash code 12, 3x times before it starts running through any logged codes.

They have to be a long way out to throw a code normal operating range is like -40 to 200 (cant remember exactly for the 304 but around there). An open circuit will also default to full cold temp usually. A TPS has a small range of .5 to 4.5v and is far more sensitive to small differances from spec
