Hey,

been trawling threads for a few weeks now and having similar problems to a lot of people but no solution yet

3.8L v6 VG auto ute

idle in drive, overdrive and reverse is intermittent and will conk out when slowing to a stop, doesnt have any dramas idling in park
also conks out in full lock (not a big issue as its an auto, i just put a bit on the brakes and accel a bit harder)

ive replaced the inlet manifold gaskets, cleaned the IAC and throttle body, reset the ecm

any advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks,

Jack

e/has no dramas starting back up again after stall, sometimes get a petrol smell in the cab when slowing down??

Full fuel pressure test before replacing sensors.

pull the fuel reg's vac tube thats attached to the manifold, smell it. if you can smell petrol or petrol is leaking out it's fragged... it could still fail without leaking too so best to get a pressure test done anyway...

If you have an ohm meter test the temp sensor too.

Yeap.
The one with the fuel hose going into the fuel rail with the vacuum hose coming off it.
No way of repairing sorry replacement only.
Maybe clean your spark plugs while your at it.
After you fit a good one do a simple cylinder balance test by running the engine and removing and replacing one injector plug at a time.
Every removed lead should result in an idle drop.
