Datsun is making a comeback

An official press release issued the other day by the CEO of Nissan Motors stated that the company thought to be put to rest in 1981, will be in fact brought back to life for a particular section of markets in the continent of Asia. I guess this breaths a new meaning to the phrase "It's still a Datsun" as it will be confirmed as true. I however, think it's a little weird that the once parent company is coming back as a sister brand...

I think it's going to ruin the brand for us in the West. Cause now it is quiet literally a cheap asian knock off.

Why bother? Once the 1600 stopped production, Datsun made nothing but bloody awful "cars" and the name became synonymous with cheap and nasty. The 240Z might be the exception - the rest were ****.

apart from the GTR is there actually a GOOD nissan? the V36 is interesting, but it looks, drives and feels exactly the same as a volkswagon. i dunno if im missing something here but the entire current range of nissans are boring.
