I need to have a whinge . I just replaced my brake fluid reservoir and for something that should have taken about 10 minutes took me over an hour.
This is because whoever deigned this, in their wisdom decided to put the retaining bolt on the left side near the strut tower where you have no hope of getting your hand in there.
The bolt goes into the left side and protrudes out of the right side, so there is no reason why the bolt couldn't have gone from the right side through to the left, where there is ample room to remove it.
Anyway, I got done but it certainly wasn't easy.
Whinge over.

Probably American GM part fitted to an Australian GM car.
I'm sure the bolt is in a perfectly accessible location for left hand drive.. :)

Could you have undone the M/C from the booster, and moved it slightly to gain better access?

On a positive note, the new reservoir was only $14 from Holden, a pleasant surprise.
