I picked up a can of Goof Off from Bunnings the other day to keep handy for cleaning sticky residue left behind from various projects.

I've been stripping down an L77 to do a DOD delete and CAM upgrade and was struggling to clean the heads and tried WD40 with Scotchbrite pads. It works for time consuming so I decided to try the Goof Off to get rid of the mess left from the head gasket and lo and behold, it removed the carbon deposits around the combustion chambers with little effort. I've since tried it on the block with a cloth and it lifts the gasket sealant with ease.

I've still to complete the block but attached are the heads after cleaning with Goof Off. The one at the front was completely cleaned with it, and the one at the rear was partially after I gave up with the WD40. Still some final cleaning to do but the results were pretty impressive.

It is in the paint accessories aisle at my local Bunnings.

If you search the product at your local store on their website, it will tell you the aisle and bay numbers.

Which one did you buy?
There seems to be a few different formulas?
