I went with the Eaton. I just couldn’t find enough feedback on the Mace

So I pulled the trigger on the Truetrac. Really happy with the work done, and even some of the driveline clunks that I had with the factory centre are gone!

Right I’m set on just replacing my center, now back to the original question of the Mace vs Trutrac. The Mace is half the price here but I am happy to pay for the better product.

Ok, I am leaning towards a truetrac or similar based on various recommendations and my research. In terms of functionality, are there any downsides compared with the factory cone lsd? As above I am weary of being caught out with it suddenly opening up if hitting a zero-traction surface

There’s not a lot of love for the factory diff that’s for sure. One of my concerns with the Truetrac and similar style is getting caught out from the near zero-traction condition where there is no torque transfer. Does a properly functioning factory unit behave the same?

Yes, would be great to get some feedback based on real world experience. Otherwise I will consider just an overhaul on the factory lsd, as you pay through the roof here for Harrop’s!

Are there any VT's out there with VY R8 wheels? Have always liked the maloo shadow chrome variation however they don't come up often so am wondering if the standard silver set would suit a black VT.

I just used 8 inch width as per most Holden 17 and 18 inch rims to fit a VX. Offset is not relevant to diameter but for an 8 inch Holden rim an offset of 48 is common.

As the title suggests, I would like some options for upgrading the brakes on my VT SS and get familiar with what is available at different price points. IMO the stock brakes' stopping power does not quite keep up with the performance of the rest of the car so any ideas will be appreciated.

OK, have replaced with an oil compatible with older mineral seals etc. and concluded it is not worth the hassle of opening it up as previously mentioned. Old oil was relatively clean and slightly dark and now immediately have less noise, a smoother drive and no leaks. Will keep a close eye...
