Hi there,

Firstly, thank you in advance to those who are able to assist me with my query.

I have a VX Calais International with an LS1 motor, and whenever I'm trying to park the car - it's like the power steering just cuts out. I've got plenty of fluid in the power steering reservoir, no noticeable signs of leaks, and the pump is not making any noise. I'm wondering is this is common, and what would be the most likely cause of this.

Do I need to purchase a new / reco power steering pump, or is there just a blockage somewhere?

Thanks! :)

No power assistance, or reduced power assistance?
The Calais has the speed sensitive steering which varies the amount of power assistance with speed, so it's light in the car park but still has some feel on the highway. It's controlled by a solenoid on the rack. It could be faulty.
