Is this a VN Series I engine? Because it sure as doesn't look like a VR engine with those hoses. VR doesn't have those pipes for one.

I agree. That has been modified. Did that car have a turbo fitted previously?

Normally the heater hoses go towards the drivers side under the power steering pump.

Plus the bypass hose should be going directly into the timing cover.

I am honestly not sure this is my first car I bought unregistered and put it through pits by learning how to do 1 job at a time would the engine number help to figure out if the motor has been swapped I am still learning about cars sorry

The best thing to do will be to return it to factory. That way you will be able to buy the correct hoses and they will fit properly.

OK, that makes sense, those steel pipes were to supply coolant to the LPG converter, without it they freeze up.

You can remove those steel pipes and just refit the standard hoses.

Post a photo of the bay from further away and include the steering pump without the pulley attached and a photo of those steel pipes to see where they go.

Also pull those two short hoses off. Something doesn't look right. with the way that bypass hose doesn't connect to the timing cover.
