Flew in this morning @ 06.00AM from Europe, decided to go and have a look at the Geelong swap meet, weather held off, great turn out
managed to pick up a few bargains, SB Chev 302 forged crankshaft, and System 1 replaceable oil filter, then came back to Mornington via Queenscliff - Sorrento ferry

Been on the hunt for 1x Carrillo 6.385" H-beam BBC rod, as lost one rod moving from motherland to Australia. Found 2 excellent cond used rods in New York and had them shipped to colleague in Cleveland then over to Europe, when we met last week. Need to be using the contacts to get your stuff

Back into the Holden this week

SOLD....Brand new Holden 350 Stroker GMH crate motor (last of the Holden V8's) Roller cam , Harrop crank, std bore 4.00 x 3.48 " stroke complete with bolt on's Advertised other sites $7,800 Call Masterstroke Engineering

No I haven't a need, just thought it might of been of interest, as the original engine doesn't come up that often

Back into garage this afternoon, slow day

Checked out the 2*BBC Carrillo 6.385" rods which picked up in USA last visit, they perfect match to existing 7 I have just a different year
rod on right is "U" existing rod and "X " (Left) new rod

Need to drop them off on Monday to get checked out and pick up SBC 302/283 ci forged crank that got polished up for mate

On to the holden engine
  • Played around with oil pressure fittings as was in way of alternator, so now tucked away at back of alternator
  • cleaned up the rocker covers, decided to paint them Maranello Red which will be as engine bay and car
  • Multiple clear coats on, came up okay,
  • cleaned up all bolts like new
  • so decided to fit them to engine (now closed up)
  • looking for 2 HDT Aero rocker cover decals to finish
  • Need to get new rocker cover cap/seal.
  • need 4 bolts for crankshaft pulley
  • need to get that carby together

Try 'stickthis' in SA for the decals.
Maybe consider a short braided line and mount the oil pressure sender on the chassis rail instead of vibration levering on the brass fitting so much.

Deuce, I had an4 x 450mm long braided line left over from past nitrous setup, was thinking that was the way to go
However not sure how it will sit until I get the engine in car
However that's a good point on vibration
