mate.. just bought (what he thinks is, hopes is ) a VE II V6 3.6 engine
does not have the cast in exhaust manifolds which says to me... LLT engine (am I right?)
he has given it to a service centre for the swap (his original turned a bearing, bottom end cactus)
who are having trouble getting it to go.

first thing is actually ID what he bought... it has an engine number -
HTA*0526666xxxxx*... which I cannot find anything om in my VE service records
and
curiously has no sticker on that back of the engine (like in the sample pic)

Any thoughts?

TIA

Easiest way to tell would be to see if it has direct injection or the high pressure fuel pump on the back of one of the heads.

LLT has the alloy inlet manifold. It was replaced by LFX which has composite inlet manifold, cast exhaust headers and less weight.

What engine was originally in the car ??
I have read on here to replace with same type or also swap the ecu to match the engine.
