This model has a shorter bonnet because it has broken its ties to the vt-vz which had ties to the vn-vs which had a longer bonnet because they were possibly going to fit the rb30 straight 6 to the VN but as the Aus $ fell and the Jap $ rose it was not viable. Cars with V type engines don't need a longer bonnet, its just excess weight to haul around. This new model is reputed to have an almost 50/50 weight split, which is far from the case in the previous front heavy models.

It almost seems that the rear wheels are larger than the front, like 17''s on the front and 18''s on the rear...

i guess its just a play on the eyes. the old wheels on my ute used to look bigger at the back then at the front for some reason.. :?
