I just blew my diff in my car and i got a different ratio diff now i had a 308:1 and now gone to a 2:78:1 ratio i was wondering how my car will go with this new diff in my car and have i done any damage to me automatic transmission

i got a 1979 VB Commodore SL 3.3 blue engine and 3 speed auto

If i have to change the ratio in my car will a 3:36:1 or 3:55:1 ratio go in my car my engine has been worked as well i think that might be why i blew the diff in the 1st place ?

the 2.78 ratio is suited to the 5 speeds and is too low for 4 speeds and trimatics.

you'd be better of with a 3.45 Vl diff.
