Hey crew

Cleaning out some boxes and come across 2 memcals which I got from an old jc member. Can't remember exactly but I believe they've been tweaked. I don't have the tools to check them.

I have some mods that may or may not match the tunes. Aside from not running correctly or efficiently, are they any other risks I haven't considered trying these out?

Basically what's the worst that can happen?

If someone has screwed with the timing you could potentially hurt the engine. Same if it goes lean. A bit of a risk if it's unknown.

Regarding lean, I do have a afr gauge to check. Would I find out after its in closed loop mode or prior.

I should hear it running like **** after the first startup.

I've seen some ebay memcals nuke engines with super agressive timing and lean fueling tables.

It's always a gamble.

The wideband gauge may help you see if it's running lean but you'll have to have good ear to listen out for detonation/pinging from timing issues.

Ok I've done that thing where I've put them in a safe place.

Will post up when I find them

Greenfoam tunes? A lot of people raved about them at the time, but later posts seem to indicate he might have just advanced the timing heaps and not done much else.

Yeah a quiet drive, keeping an eye on afr's, and check log afterwards is your best bet.
If you find them.

If all looks good, then maybe repeat with less quietness.

Or send them to someone to look at (and maybe update).
They may not even be appropriate for your engine/transmission combo so run limp mode from the get go
