Got a problem with a holden astra needing to turn car off & start again to reset drive from getting stuck in 4th.
Only doesn't change back gears if it reaches 4th. On rare occasion it will. Check engine (car with spanner)
Comes on when it reaches 4th.
Would they be electronic solenoid?

Did you resolve the problem? I've got same issue, code was for trans speed sensor. You can manually shift 1st to 3rd but no overdrive 4th. Careful with the shift down because it doesn't slip through the gears.

Output speed sensor in the end. Shopped around & got it for approx $80.

It's easy to replace, jack up left side, remove wheel, plug & play!

This is good news, my Astra has this problem, sometimes the same thing happens and I have to manually shift gears to drive it properly and I was thinking I was going to have to send in the TCU to get fixed, pay hundreds and have the car off the road for a couple of weeks. Thanks guys.
