VY Calais Super Charged 2003
Hi,

I recently been getting the "Check Engine - TRAC OFF" warning light, it has happen 2 times, but today and yesterday it didn't happen.

Also when I turned on T/C is worked fine and I turned it off.

Not sure if it's to do with the cold weather or just a glitch in the electrical system?

Anyone experience the same issue? I have a Holden Commodore VY 2003 supercharged

I really don't want to take it to the mechanic during the lockdown for COVID.

Thanks,
Paul

As above ^^^ Voltage,
Check the charge rate, should be approx. 14.4 with a RE72 Alternator, that was std equipment on the Super6's

As you said, could be Weather,
Check the plugs/connectors behind the hubs, front and back,
as they could either be coroded terminall due to moister, or vibrated/worked lose, anything is possible being the age of these cars now,
In doing that, possible give them a quick spray with WD40 or similar,
and make sure the boots/seals are in tact,
Then check the other wiring and connectors/plugs under and in the car.
If you have had a lot or rain up that way, that could be the issue.
Sounds like one of the intermittent faults that can be a headacre.

Low battery charge did that to mine.

I think its to do with low battery as im not driving it as much due to lockdown

Been taking it for drives everyday and the warning light doesnt come on, also i can turn on / off Traction Control

Get yourself a CTEK, or similar float battery charger, as per recent discussions on here. Save your car and your frustrations.
