Hi, Does anyone know what this pipe is. It's from the power steering pump off a 1998 VT 5.0 HSV Senator. I need a replacement as the nut is completely rounded. I have tried all the hose stores like Pirtek to make a replacement but none can.

Maybe try your local wreckers. Should be the same on all V8's of the same model. I think VS V8 has that pipe too.

Have you tried ENZED?

They have made some pipes for me.

Alternative is to learn what the threads are for the nuts, & buy them, then get a tube bender, & make your own.

Looks like a normal double flare nut like those used on brake and fuel lines on a wide variety of Holdens over the decades.
What OD is that steel tube? Is it an imperial or metric thread?
Try brake repair specialists.

Not saying this is what you need but never know your luck in the big city. Unfortunately AGS is situated in Michigan, USA.

You "may" be able to cut the flare off, replace the nut and re-flare the line

I've spoken to mechanic about a rounded flare nut on my master cylinder line and he said that would be the easiest way, cut the old flare off, then replace the rounded flare nut and use a flaring tool to re-flare the line

All you need is room for the tool to fit, and enough line so that the 5 "ish" mm you remove doesn't cause the line to foul on anything

Try a different 'Pirtek' franchise. Of course they can. Cut off, replace nut, reflare. It may be a touch shorter or they can use an adaptor on the nut to extend length that way. Could even make another from braided line or similar, strap it to the original line to keep the shape. There's plenty of options if they wanted to try. Just depends if you need original or something that simply works. If you said it was a truck or bulldozer and you were mid-operation, they'd do it while you waited.

Any hydraulic hose place can fabricate those. They just do t want to.

You may also be able to find them on eBay.

Yeah, 100% they can make up a new steel line.
Doesn't have to be completely identical.
Same threads are obviously the main thing, even adapters are fine if they have to.
Steel pipe bends pretty good, so it's not a big deal to start from scratch.

Pirtek etc can be a bit funny when asked to make stuff. If you tell them they have some creative freedom they tend to chill out and are more helpful.

Problem is, there is no creative freedom, that pipe fits in a very specific spot and not a lot of room around it. It is the shape it is for a reason.
