Back in 2005, my Dad won a brand new Impulse blue VZ SS in a raffle. Then bloody sold it. But not before a young me had fallen in love with it. So naturally when I had the funds available, I got myself something similar:
VY Series 2 SS in Quicksilver built 28/10/03. Mods:
-Pacemaker 4-1 headers with high flow cats into twin 2.5” exhaust. Mild steel
-Ripshifter kit
-HSV Pentagon 19” rims
-330mm front and 315mm rear HSV PBR rotors and PBR front twin, rear single calipers
-Lowered 2” on HSV springs
-4X JBL 6.5”s, 2X Pioneer 6X9”s, 12” Kenwood sub and amp
-Black front and rear window tint, Silver side window tint front and rear
-Camber kit with elongated bushes, Nolethane front castor rod bushes
Bought her on the 24th of November 2016 for 8 grand cash. It did have just under 240,000ks but drove amazingly. I was planning on keeping it forever. But that wasn’t the case, not even a year later as I was overtaking an older gent in a Skoda, he decided to overtake too and merged toward us. Not fun at nearly 100k’s an hour. We ended up skidding sideways and going up an embankment that caused us to roll 3 times. My partner, friend and I all survived thankfully. A testament to the VY’s build quality. My dream car was not meant to be but she saved our lives and I’m forever thankful. Thanks for reading.
P.S: Don’t mind me in the background of Pic 4 wondering why that VT’s boot looked odd.
