Mine is getting towards 220k (I think) and it purrs like a kitten, no mechanical issues what so ever, except a slight weep from the RM. I've had the common problems sorted, that being the trunnions, lifters and valve springs. Think I mentioned already to swap out the Crow springs as they are fairly well known to snap.
Yea cheers mate, sorting the new ones I don’t want another one to let go

Once you have the heads off and can see and spin the bottom end you'll have a good idea of its health

This was mine at 230k when I boosted it, was pretty mint, scrubbed up nicely, good compression, still some hatch on the bores

Yeah the PAC Racing ones are better. Rev High are about the cheapest providing you buy them straight from their site and not their eBay store.

Yea sweet as, when I did the lifter upgrade the first time round it looked good that’s why I wasn’t really worried. How did you clean your block?

Carb cleaner, non scratch scouring pads, tonnes of rags, care and a lot of time, that pic is about halfway through, you don't want any scratches, even micro in the block

I too had one snap, I replaced the single spring with a SH one and drove it for a few months until I could afford the trunnion upgrade and have all the springs replaced at the same time. Big job, took the mech 7hrs and that was without removing the heads.

Hi guys I have a 2003 vy ss With 302000 on the clock I just did an ls7 lifter upgrade comp cam 219/233 and crow cam duel valve springs and otr

xforce headers with hi flow cats and 2 and 1/2 cat back

4.11 dif gears with tru Trac
It only made 237 kw

on the dyno a lifter let go and I know have low oil pressure (reason was I had wrong valve springs in it for first run) all changed now.

I don’t know if it’s time to rebuild or do a set of lifters again and heads and bolts. I have already spent decent coin (plus we are building a house) what’s every one’s thoughts.
Cheers in advance.
Hey guys,
Compression test
Cylinder 1- 155
Cylinder 3 - 150
Cylinder 5- 155
Cylinder 7 - 160
Cylinder 2 - 155
Cylinder 4 - 160
Cylinder 6 - 160
Cylinder 8 - 155

Comps are lower than mine. Mine were 185-190 when I last checked. Someone else might pipe in and let you know if yours are still OK. Good thing is they are fairly even.
