just wanting to know what it will cost me for a respray, changing from red to a light blue over silver?
I was considering doing all/most of the prep work myself, is this really worth the time as i'm still in school and should probably doing some sort of school work!
Colour suggestions? will the price vary depending on what colour?

hi mate,
if you paint the engine bay and door sills your self will be alot cheaper, the paint you chose brings up the cost of course.
i could get you a fairly good job in baked 2pac for $1500.
though pearl/candy paint will be alot more.

what if I just didn't bother with them?
that wouldn't really matter? would look a bit stupid at times, but not visible from the outside so it doesn't really matter...

what is '2pac' paint? everybody says it and all but I don't understand what it is?
is it better than regular paint?

2 pac is a 2 part paint. So you use the paint with a hardener, where as with acrylic you use just the paint and thinners and the paint dries when the thinners evaporates, 2 pac on the other hand dries by the chemical reaction of the 2 parts. 2 pac is also a lot harder wearing than acrylic and just a much better paint all round IMO.

The paint is cheaper, yes. But then you have to rub and buff it, 2 pac is straight off the gun, doesn't NEED to be rubbed & buffed. You only rub and buff 2 pac if you want it dead flat like glass. So, in all honesty, it'll probably work out about the same price by the time you factor in the extra labour to rub and buff acrylic.

If you paint a VL in 2 pac, you will never have to paint it again, the car will be dead and buried long before the paint wears out....:)

Also, if you can find a painter that doesn't laugh in your face when you say you want it done in acrylic, you've done well :p

ahh, sounds like 2pac is the way to go then!

any ideas on what it costs to get the rust cut out of under the windshields?
is it worth doing...?

oh, and dents! how much will it cost to get a dent repaired?
I have a huge one on my rear door about half the size of the door...
