One of my headlights was working only intermittently, and the auto electrician replaced the entire headlight. It cost an absolute fortune. (just under a grand). He said the problem was most likely bad connections (between the ballast and the globe, I think), and it was not repairable.
Is there any chance of having it repaired by a specialist? If so, maybe I could sell it and recoup a bit of the cost.
It's too late now, but could I have replaced the headlight with one from a Statesman? Apparently the Statesman uses standard headlights, and this kind of problem doesn't occur.
I'm thinking I should start trying to source a used headlight for when the other one goes. Any recommendations on suppliers/wreckers would be appreciated.
Greg.
