2011 VE SV6 COMMODORE
Hi all, recent lurker here but first post.
I have very recently acquired a VE SV6 and have read that it is a good idea to get a catch can
Have been trying to decide on one and due to the lack of room under the bonnet was thinking of a
MISHIMOTO COMPACT BAFFLED OIL CATCH CAN, 2-PORT
Has anyone got one of these and if so what are your thoughts on it?
Cheers

The aftermarket is full of brands and flashy anodised stuff with stickers.
Opportunistic half-baked solutions.
Consider the best engineered engine components awarded by SAE or any other peer review, does it have different stickered bits with braided this and carbon that?
Nup, my advice is go OEM whenever possible like AC Delco or Delphi or, in this specific case, look at the OEM air / oil separator specialists that supply to trucks and diesel plant equipment since WWII - Mann Hummel.

The automotive ‘catch can’ has been around for over 150 years, Mann has a Provent series which is sold by the likes of Summit and Pace and rebranded by SLP and Lingenfelter. Basically there is no doubt if you are going to invest / spend money to get the best then you want a Provent 200 for your V6.
Not something that you find in Supercheap or Ricer forum.

Look it up on eBay for $175 including mounting clamps etc.

If you're reusing the PCV valve you just need a can, you can get a plain can or something with a vapour diffuser. Provent is an all in one solution with valves. Usually overkill if you're just looking to keep things tidy.

You’ll need a T-piece to route both sides into the 1 catch can
or you could buy 2 catch cans :p
