It's really not fun. Getting rid of spammers is one thing, banning someone who you've bantered with for years is another.

And don't forget the new member thread digging an old thread from 2004 with nothing useful to say (I'm guilty of this too)

I really think you guys should add a feature where it says it's an old thread, like other forums do as thread digging is less prevalent there...

They totally get paid.
Paid in conversation whenever you visit in the real world, and coffees and biscuits when they visit you.
Moderation isn't for everyone, but if you can hack it, the rewards are far greater than monetary gain....

(doing just about everything.. from killing off spammers and trolls to removing double and reported posts)

Then you also have to deal with complaints from newbies, that PM another member and get politely told to post his/her question on the forum, who then complain to Mods that you were apparently rude for suggesting this..
