This movie totally captivated me as a kid. Getting it out at the local milk bar in Werribee.
What I found interesting years later is the Senator that gets shot actually at died in Jan 1941 in our timeline. However the above scene is set in Dec 1941. It’s why the amateur history buff, Commander Dick Owens is so shocked in the rescue scene. He knows he should already have died. This suggests time has already been altered and in hind sight they could have been free to end the entire Japanese fleet. Maybe.
