As I understand it euro 2 emissions applied from 1/1/1997 for new models but existing models had till 1/1/1999 to comply-the reason sequential injection was introduced on the 5 litre VS ute. I’m trying to get confirmation on this but can’t find anything concrete on line. I posted something previously on this but not sure it made sense…
I’m trying to get my 1998 ute certified and I’m thinking I only need to meet euro 1.

Probably best to contact the certifying authority and ask them the question.

I’ll do that. I have seen a certifier who seemed to think that was the case but he wasn’t big on detail. Also he isn’t that responsive but is the only one inside of 2 hours drive. Seems to be a thing with trades now. Lots of work so you have to chase and chase…

Unfortunately yes, these days we have to do our own leg work.

Have consulted a new engineer and this guy is much more helpful. A bit further away but worth the extra drive.
It looks like my main issue will be meeting the emissions. My car has some decent engine mods.
They have recommended using and LS1 computer/harness and this will allow them to tune to meet emissions requirements.
Previous posts from sometime ago have suggested no more power will be achieved but are they talking motors with minor mods?
My main aim is to get it engineered so not too worried about more power.
Has anyone used the LS1 computer on a 5 litre?
