I bought this Duplo-Colour from SuperCrap. I never realised this brand was a acrylic lacquer.

It’s gone down really nice. Heat the can in hot water, better pressure and thinner paint

I have two options for a clear at home. An epoxy clear and an acrylic clear.

I’d have avoided the lacquer if I’d known it was a lacquer. Open to feedback on that thought.

It’s on three coats of epoxy primer. Let that sit for a few days.

The Heron white went on as a light coat. Then a medium coat to get the coverage and close up the primer. Then a heavier coat to get it to flow on the panel.

I’ll let that sit for a few days before dropping a clear onto it.

What would you do for a clear coat?

I keep going out and looking at it. Can’t wait to peel all the masking off and disappoint myself hard.

You can use clear lacquer over base. It's not as durable but it will be ok.

I've 2k cleared over acrylic base coat many times so have many others.

In theory the reason you can't is because 2k is completely sealing and hardening.

Lacquer is a gassing out product. If the lacquer had gassed out most urethane clears can easily go over it.

Give my mate Tony a ring tomorrow he's in canning Vale.

He makes the 2k cans and their is definitely 2k that even the fact sheet says is safe to go over lacquer. Some of them require an adhesion promoted between the acrylic and the urethane. There are products out there that definitely fine doing it.
