i thought it was the video where he removed the radiator cap on hot engine that caused it
It’s a sad indictment on YouTube and social media in general if a non safety “safety” issue is behind what caused the channel ban.
In terms of burn safety, all the radiator caps I’ve seen have a detent on the radiator neck that allowed the cap to be turned to the first stop and the pressure to be bled and then required the cap to be pushed down and turned further before the cap could be removed. It was a design choice that prioritised safety to reduced the hot spray hitting you in the face, something lost in the VF design.
If YouTube is so concerned with safety, then maybe they should report Holden to ACCC for their unsafe VF radiator cap design and push for a recall rather than banning a chanel
Also the argument that it’s unsafe to remove the oil filler cap on the rocker cover while the engine is running (as some mentioned) completely ignores all that nasty stuff coming out of the tail pipe in much higher concentrations
Sadly many channels don’t show an exhaust evacuation tube being connected to the tail pipe when the engine is running… Sadly YouTube’s supposed safety stance also won’t help the millions who live next to very busy freeways
So really, I suspect there is something else going on behind the channel ban. Maybe there is some disgruntled competing channel that is engineering these complaints that are leading to the ban? Probably all because of $$$.
Won’t be the first time someone has built up their business on social media platforms only to be shafted but the Terms Of Use.
The bigger issue is that there seems to be no right of appeal and seemingly no legal protection for channel owners.. I expect it’s all bound up in TOS favourable only to YouTube. Surely there is some legal recourse where a court should be able to find issue with some contract terms and define them as unconscionable which puts some balance back into the
It’s all a game with $$ at stake and the big boys have all the cards.
But let’s not forget that YouTube itself used to be called a criminal group by the media owners. now the ex criminals are looking after our safety?
