82 vh sl-restomod

hi,
new member with a new project car.
recently bought an 82 vh commy in a bit of a rough condition.it has a 173 blue 6 with a factory 5 speed
current plans are to paint it and put it on club rego,then the engine work and interior

pictures to come later,once photobucket decides to work

Not bad. Is the everything under the hood rusted out?

no,theres only 1 little spot under the charcoal cannister,the bottom of the doors is another story

engine bay(air con is allready gone)

interior is in decent shape
factory 5 speed
8 inch round 3 way speakers.thats a new one

where is the build plate on these cars?.theres 2 plates in the top left corner of the engine bay,but it only list paint code and not much else.
is there a plate that says the original engine number and options it was built with?

they can be located in a couple of different spots.
Mine has 2 behind the l/h strut tower and one on the radiator support panel. Usually this one gets destroyed if the car has had a front ender.

Check under the carpet, that interior shot showing the drivers side rear footwell looks like it's had water sitting in it...

thanks man,no build plate to be seen.guess its gone.

theres no rust under the carpet its just very dirty and gross.

there is however a few rust holes on the bottom of the doors to be fixed and then buy some ss skirts off ebay,then paints time(after prep work of course)

oh yeah its pretty dirty under there. Are you planning to keep the engine? You might want to stock up on carby cleaner.

not sure on the engine currently,still on p plates so no v8 yet.either way im a perfectionist with mechanical stuff
