597Kw Supercharged VE SS

This is one of my first posts but I have been a long time lurker.

MY wife has a VP Berlina and I have a VS Ute (V6 Getrag) as a dirty daily. This forum helped me with my 5 speed conversion and a heap of other tech questions I have had over the years.

Attached are pics of a VE SS that was owned by a family member who has recently passed away.

The car has 140000km on it and is a supercharged 6L / Manual.
I have a ton of big $$ receipts for the work done to the car including Forged bottom end, higgins CNC ported heads, the Harrop supercharger, fuel system, tuning, Eaton Tru-Trac, Brembos, wheels etc etc.
I am looking after the car for now now but will have to move it on for the estate at some point soon.

I am giving some thought to buying it myself as it really is fun to drive, and a bloody nice rig.

Any advice on value? Auction houses have been telling me 25k, which I reckon seems low, but I am not an expert by any stretch.

its only worth what people are willing to pay for it, having mods like that can also go against the value as some people like to do that stuff them selves as its a personal choice.

$25k is likely where the money is at in the current market. Its a base SS but with a nice engine and diff. I have seen similar builds sell for around $30k but that was over a year ago now. A base SS sedan with no fruit and low kms are not selling at $25k anymore. Prices have dropped. You will see plenty advertised at $30k or more but stick those ads in your watchlist and see how long they sit before the price gets reduced. Then watch on while they still don't move until the price hits low $20K's. And prices are going to fall more as people feel the squeeze.

I am seriously contemplating it. There's almost 70k in receipts with the car and I know its history. It is very quick but still has great manners if you don't drive it hard.

Great car. Not run of the mill. There’s a lot of value in having a car that makes you smile when you drive it.

I have really been enjoying driving it, it's crazy how much of a kitten it is to drive, but will rip your face off when you punch the throttle.

I will be having a chat next time we have the family together.

The talk was to chase somewhere around the 40k mark, but I will see if there is a family discount.

I have a shed full of old Valiants, so I'll have to move on a few projects to make it happen. Will update if it ends up mine.
