Hey guys... New to the forums so dont mind me...
Ive been searching for a while about the widest tyre we can put on vt/vx's..

i went to MULTIPLE tyre stores around sydney. all telling me its not possible, yada yada.
well today i was able to go back to those stores and tell them to stick it. :) lol

no one's really ever posted on what rims etc so i just thought id throw it out there seeing as afew people want
some nice dish on there commodore.

my mate had some 5x120 - 20x10" / +26 lying around. so i thought .. why not!
turns out, they fit.

This is illegal in i'm pretty sure every state in Aus.
i hold no responsibility for any damage done to your car attempting this!

the only thing i had to do for them to fit (very tightly i might add) is roll the guards and roughly -1 -2 degree camber
and the car was lowered 2" from standard with pedders.

guards are getting rolled tomorrow and all done.

any info just ask :)
I have 245/30/20"s on Rear & 235/35/20's on Front of My 2000 series2 VT clubby
☆BUT
Will my 20" walkies there 275/30 fit the rear of my car

Why would you have wider tyres on the front? ;)

You're also replying to someone that hasn't been on here for 11 years

Depends on the width and offset of the wheel, but on a 20 that will be pretty damn tight so height will also play a pretty large roll. Even if the width and offset are good, don't be surprised if you need to massage in the inner sides of the wheel tubs with a mallet.

Why ask, you already have them and can test. Report back instead. Plastic liner rubs about the 255 mark with original offset. But as with original post, even if they fit, why?

My VX SS

Rear = 17 x 9.5 46 offset with 275/40 17 (25.7" tyre diameter, 110mm sidewall)

Street tyres are 275/40 17 R888R, drag tyres are 275/40 17 Mickey Thompson SS radials

Never rubs, even with 3 adults in the back

Guards rolled, about FE2 height on Pedders Extreme suspension

-0.5° camber (Camber bushings)

Super compliant on the street, great at the drags

You are looking at - 275/30 20, which are 26.5" and 82.5 mm sidewall.

Working out what does and doesn't fit is simple with a few tools and a tape measure.

Your ride quality and ability to hook will be compromised IMO
