Ve sv6 ute
Does anyone know of any common issues with the VE 6 speed manual, I’m looking at a ute and after a test drive going back into second sometimes it wouldn’t go back in at all and sometimes it was very stiff there was no crunching or nothing and it was only second. Another thing we noticed was whilst driving the stability control turned off and wouldn’t turn on even after Turning the car off and on again.

Neither the 6 or 8 have any common issues like that. Could be a worn second gear syncro which could be made slightly better with an oil change or some clutch adjustment (if that's possible on the VE manuals). Could also be an indication that i's had a hard life. The boxes are cheap second hand though. Can't say much about the traction control, other than it's kind of concerning. You'd probably be better off looking at something else.

Traction control might be related to a dud wheel speed sensor. If its showing off, id see if the seller has a scantool and pull fault codes.
