I also find the trip meter in mine is not very accurate as some people say theirs are. Mine sits on 15.5-16lph whereas my calcs using full to the brim and 100km driving tests suggest its closer to 14.5lph. Even on interstate trips it registers around 13lph, whereas my test suggest I get about...

I can fit a fair bit more than 76L if I fill it to the brim. Can't remember how much exactly but its more than 5L after it starts clicking off. Haven't needed to fill it that full in ages but if I'm travelling interstate I will fill it until it can take no more, depending on the price of petrol...

SSV might have it, but not Omega SS Series I  I have mileage to empty, and average use and that's it.

Losh's latest, 955 Triumph Sprint ST

Been wanting to order an air filter for the Sprint. So far best deal I can get is $81 inc freight, with the deal expiring tomorrow at Spares Box. Quite a bit dearer on eBay and I'm thinking it's probably not worth trying to hold out to eventually maybe save $3. Pretty sure the one at Spares Box...

I find that too, that you get more miles from the first half than I do the second half.

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

I had some clown in a Lux or similar nearly take me and the wife out last Friday night. Coming around a blind corner as I do nearly every day and he was well into my lane by going wide. I slammed on the anchors and got as close to the guard rail as I could quickly to avoid the collision. That...

Not sure about sedans but in my ute if I fill it completely full and then drive it, it will sit around the 1/2 full mark a lot longer than the 1/4 mark. Get it down to a 1/4 and it seems like its maybe 1.5 trips to work if that and back and I'm on empty. Whereas it will hover around 1/2 a tank a...

I'd dare say they are already on to it. Trouble with plug in heaters they cost a lot more to run than a heat pump and need about three or four of them in a modern open plan house to keep you warm. This is what Aurora tell us each week. Do not use plug in heaters as they are terribly inefficient...

I'll add the reason you have come against resistance is you haven't found the correct panel tech who can pull it off. I know a couple of panel beaters, one is retired and one is local to me I also know of a bloke who does custom builds near me, including shaping panels and panel cuts and making...

$100k is a starting figure, be prepared to double that budget if costs blow out, which they normally do. In that $100k budget if it can be done for that you will be doing a lot yourself. So if you are not an expert fabricator you better learn. If you are not skilled in mechanics you better learn...

$100k would probably go close, but better to have another $50k up the sleeve in case you spend $100k and still have a way to go. Put it this way if you were looking at a standard resto on one of those vehicles no custom work you will be at $40k. Add an engine other than standard fitment you...

Similar. I posted a picture of it on here somewhere. It was red with big lift and 31" or 32" muddies IIRC.

Those two would be easier to marry together. I tried to find the Red 4WD VF wagon but I can't find it anymore. It was a beast with a 6.2L.

With a decent budget you could turn a VX into a 4WD VX and probably get it engineered. However, to marry a Hilux onto the Commodore is not the cheapest way to do it. If I can find it there is a bloke who built a 4WD VF IIRC, I don't think it was a VE.

I have our wood heater turned right down ATM and I am at the stage where I need to open a window as it is too hot. The heat pump can be on 21 and it's only just warm enough and that's for me. Others feel the cold a lot more than me. Our neighbours moved in a few weeks ago, and their heat pump...

If you buy from R & J who are the main sellers of Delco's get the price, then ask for the best price. You might find they shave $30-$40 of the first quote.

The VE needs a very good battery or problems like you are experiencing are common. This could explain the issue with traction control and ABS errors s a poorly working battery is often attributed to these problems. An AC Delco battery are the best for a VE, and go larger than standard too, the...

While a $100 Teng TW might be ok for a few basic things I wouldn't buy one as they fail calibration tests according to my Teng supplier who have had several come backs and they test every TW they sell. He said he could sell me one but that he'd rather not as the new supplier has not kept up the...

I've seen some more well known brands for around the $100 mark, but unfortunately the calibrations are not accurate in say something like the new Teng ones. I haven't seen the AC Delco ones before, and I guess it would depend on who the supplier to them are that would determine if they are...

Does this look like it still has tension on it and it's not been wound back? Or is that not an issue with a deflecting beam and they don't actually load up until in use?

I do love that momentary feeling of unwrapping a new flash tool when it arrives in the mail or if I get to grab one from my local tool supplier. First wife said to me once I have enough tools in my shed! I said to her that she sounds like my ex-wife. Her reply was "I didn't realise you were...

It's definitely a tool that would get some use being what it is. But yeah I can probably wait and see if the one on Marketplace comes down, now that I've figured out the $150 price tag is not the bargain I thought it was. Also I've made do for all these years, and the same deal on a new one may...

    Things that p*** you off/bug you/annoy you

Remotes have a limited lifespan, much less than the TV itself. They do that in the hope that most people will just go out and by a whole new TV. And when customers say I don't have the funds for a new TV, that's when they pull out the 36 months interest free deal, to try and persuade you. My...

Almost bought a new one just now. I just remembered I saved a bit on what I was expecting to spend on the bike yesterday. That's the way they suck you in make something look like an offer you can't refuse. I'm still tempted, but I will need to think and not make a rushed purchase, just because...

I just looked the price of a brand new one and they are only $199, not worth a special trip. Probably why it hasn't sold already.

Ahhh, nice that's more of a pop-up caravan than a camper. That's quite a luxury compared to the average camper trailer that involves a fair bit more work to set up.
