Got it all running. No leaks. Only thing is the fuel gauge went crazy. I put 30 litres in it and the red empty light came on and the distance to empty read 75 kms then 110 kms to empty. It has now gone off so hopefully that is it . Must have been the float .

The metal locking ring ? Yep. That`s what i meant about the slotted bits.

The 5 slotted metal bits ? Yep. They went in smoothly and tight. Looks like the O ring is sitting in correctly. I`ll put some fuel in it and turn it upside down tomorrow before i fit it to see if it leaks. Cheers.

Thankyou. I finally just got it it go in. I gave it a harder tap with the mash hammer on the plastic on the right side for it to push in . I was afraid of smashing it but it only had less than 10mm to be flush and it worked out this time. Never had this trouble before. All good now. Thanks...

This one is only supposed to be 75 litres. I am going to let it drain upside down for a week and then give it ago with the soldering iron , but i will swap the pump if i do get another tank. Thanks for telling me that. Cheers.

Update. Got the tank out with limited space to work in but it was a PITA . Whoever put the towbar in has mounted one side of it up against one of the tank strap bolts and it took a bit of getting the towbar out of the way with pulling everything out of the boot and unscrewing everything...

Thanks. Don`t have a hoist or have access to one out here in the bush. The fill neck doesn`t come apart ? Is there a drain plug to get the petrol out quicker ,please ? It is very slow going and the tank is about 3/4 full. What are these tanks worth second hand from the wreckers ?Thanks.

I`ll find out next weekend but you may be right. I pulled the radio out today ,but one of the wiring adaptors they sold me had the wrong plug on it so i had to put the radio back in. They have ordered the correct one and it should be there during the week and i`ll give it another go next...

I just tried the CD and it doesn`t work anyway.

I have a CD stacker in the boot but have not tried to use it yet. I don`t play CDs so if that is all it is ,then it won`t matter if it is not plugged in . Thanks for the reply.

I just got a 2001 WH with the factory radio and have bought a double Din radio to put in it. Does anyone know what the round connector with all the pins that goes into the back of the factory radio does ? The new radio unit i bought doesn`t have the hole in the back of it to take this...
