A lot of little details would need 2 tie in together on the car.
Best thing i can advise is have the local RTA inspection pit verify the identity of the car.
I had a minor bingle in my VH SS & had 2 replace the radiator support panel. RTA insisted on taking my car behind closed doors to go over it & confirm it's identity after I replaced the panel (radiator support panel has the body number on it)
From memory there's 05 stamped on various areas of the body of all VH SS's & Group 1,2, & 3 cars as they were all made from the same batch of shells.
One area I can confirm is behind the dash cluster should be stamped 05 in the support bracing. Another I noted on mine is behind the drivers Kick panel.
HDT wouldn't have much 2 do with a Grp 3 car as it's a Brockie, HDT brought their own version out in smaller numbers with the bulging wheel arches etc.
There's a forum dedicated 2 brock commodore owners & someone on there would be your gospel for info. Wish I cld help u more.
