    VY Factory System upgrade

Ah, I should have realised, it's school holidays. On your way.

    VY Factory System upgrade

Dude, Tonnes of people around the world in different types of cars, try and keep up. I first put a system in my brand new VXII SS in 2002. Do the maths on that if you can. I replaced the lot in that car, ran a new HU, 3 Alpine / MTX amps, all Focal speakers and two 12" Alpine subs. All...

    VY Factory System upgrade

Err, hate to tell you but tonnes of people all over the world leave stock speakers in the rear, or remove them altogether. Simply known as rear fill. You just turn them down in the back usually. I've always done this in many other brands of cars. This is the first time it hasn't worked. In...

    VY Factory System upgrade

Can I ask, did you swap both front and rear speakers at the same time?

    VY Factory System upgrade

Thanks for the reply. Ive no interest in doing any of that. I'll put the standard speakers back in instead. I'm very surprised to see this happen with such sensitive speakers that are designed for running off the headunit. I'm not expecting much here, but it's pretty woeful in the front now. All...

    VY Factory System upgrade

Ok, I threw some 6.5" splits in. High sensitivity units (92 DB). They're very faint compared to the factory rear 2 ohm 6" speakers. The system is quite unbalanced. All the volume is from the rear unless I fade the rears out completely, which doesn't sound right. I've experienced this on my other...

    VY Factory System upgrade

Thanks. I have some 6.5" high sensitivity (good for low power headunis) 4 ohm splits here actually. I'll throw them in and see what they sound like. Cheers

    VY Factory System upgrade

Ah, thanks. I got you.. So, with the fronts, 2 ohm aftermarket splits should be wired the same as the factory speakers, and present the same 4 ohm load to the headunit? Any tricks there to be aware of? Mind you, I can't find any 2 ohm splits, rare as hens teeth. JBL make some 2.3 ohm splits...

    VY Mobile Phone Port Question

I have the RCA mod done to my factory Bluapunkt 6 stacker, so that's where the RCA's plug into as they run directly to the same location that this plug is located as per the diagram above. I'm adding this RFBTRCA adaptor for Bluetooth audio through that headunit.

    VY Mobile Phone Port Question

Thanks for the reply. I should clarify, I'm not fitting a car kit, I'm wiring in a Bluetooth adaptor. RCAs on one end, 12v power on the other. The 12v is as shown below (that's the kit I'm using), with the red and the black wires. So, I'm wiring that into the Holden plug, that's why I wasn't...

    VY Mobile Phone Port Question

I am looking to hard wire a Bluetooth adaptor in my VYII. I've read that there's a mobile phone port on the passenger side of the centre console in VY's. You can get a Holden plug that fits mobile phone port. This plug was used in the old days to wire in aftermarket mobile phone kits. My...

    RCA Bluetooth Adaptor

Hi guys, Along with updated 2 ohm splits / speakers, I want to add a Bluetooth adaptor to my factory VY stereo so I can stream Spotify. The 6 stacker head unit is stock except it has the ASR RCA mod that was never used. I've found two adaptors that run from RCA...

    VY Factory System upgrade

Hi guys, I'm adding new speakers to a VY Series 2 Calais level factory system (standard 6 CD headunit). Speakers in the doors say 2 ohm on them. If I replace these 6" fronts, (including replacement of the factory dash tweeters) and and the 6 " rears with 2 ohm speakers, it's a straight swap...

    O2 sensors

0258005703 appears to be the part number for the 02 sensors. Price here isn't bad and I've used the store before with good results. https://automotivesuperstore.com.au/bosch-0258005703

    O2 sensors

Thanks guys, that is great info. I wasn't too worried about the price for the pair if they are good, but I will now avoid this vendor. I'll look around but reading reviews, the cheap ones seem best avoided.
