Good evening, all,
Keep coming to my battery being dead flat in my VSII Caprice, was working on the car recently and it sounds like a relay is constantly clicking in the seat while the car is off, it just clicks on/off rapidly at random intervals, I suspect this is causing a current draw issue...
I'm sure the bananas aren't the best option for boost, but remember with a centrifugal supercharger I won't be making peak boost until 5000 RPM+
If I go a big manifold that flows more, I'll lose the benefits of the bananas down low when the centrifugal supercharger is only generating a few...
If anyone's concerned about banana manifold, watch this:
I've got a centrifugal supercharger there for the boat anchor, bananas aren't as bad as people think - especially on stock stroke and low end applications like mine.
At the moment she rolls over at 4200 RPM, then it wants another...
I've got an Autel diagnostic scanner, it can interface with the ABS module on the car, clear codes and read live data but not actuate the ABS pump to do a bleed - absolute turd of a thing.
I'll see if there's an update for it which will let me do some extra functionality, but given the car is...
Thats going to be a pain in the ass because you can't use a scan tool anymore - car has an aftermarket ECU, nor does the aftermarket ECU have an ABS bleed function.
I triggered the ABS a bunch of times by jamming on the brakes on a dirt road to cycle the pump heaps.
Went to go wash it and I've now got virtually no brakes, super spongy pedal and it requires like half to 3/4 the pedal travel to pull up the car from about 20km/h.
I've bled the brakes including the ABS module by activating it lots, but I cant seem to get the pedal to stiffen up.
Yeah I can, I think they don't like being run as wasted spark either.
The protection of the coils is nasty, if you run them too hot they will fire themselves uncontrolled to stop them from cooking.
So you get uncontrolled ignition timing which isn't exactly what you want.
They're absolute...
Yeah I think I'll change over to wasted spark at some point to free up four outputs from the ECU
So I can get my AC back, I'll keep the sequential injection though.
You're on the money I reckon, the hub ring was rusty AF, was a bit of a **** to get the wheel off.
Requires further investigation, brakes are certainly the most shitful they've ever been.
Its got ceramic pads and DBA T2 rotors.
Also feels like I've got side wall of tyre touching body of...
Oh, I took the calipers off and reattached them, all the bolts are 'FT'
None were loose,
Will have to check that out, and see if we have movement, seems strange the passenger side doesn't move what so ever but the drivers side flops around like a cock in a sock.
Alright so update here, I did absolutely nothing, and didn't drive the car for nearly a year and it fixed itself :)
Fired it up today, ran like a swiss watch.
Good evening, all,
Fired up the old shitbox and gave her a bit of love today (service).
Taking the RHF wheel off and having a bit of a goosy gander, we've spotted this:
Ignore me jocks being used as a rag for all you train spotters out there,
The RHF rotor is very loose inside the caliper...
Here you go - 8x ignition coils
Absolute waste of time, money and uses up all your IO on your aftermarket ECU (takes 8x outputs just for the ignition coils), they also **** the bed on the regular if the waste of time, money and IO wasn't a good enough covering of sprinkles on the ****...
