yep, its stripped to almost nothing waiting for me to start the proper rebuild on it
Any interesting motor ideas?
sticking with the m10, bigger cam, slide throttles, its already high compression and balanced bottom end. i have contacts for a 2.3 crank, so maybe bump up the capacity. still keen on trying for 100hp/l and its just over 2ltr now. its very long term, so plans could change
I can certainly understand, 100hp/l is always fun.
Alternatively why not try for one of those legendary M10 based F1 (M12/13) builds? :/
'36 is looking mean... Glad to see you back online here at JC.
Peace Out!

Didn’t expect to see some m10 love here. To make 100bhp/ltr u will have to rev it up pretty hard and the rocker arms don’t like much more than about 7500rpm unless u want to use some exotic and expensive parts.
I have a little old 2002 with an m10 with s14 crank (approx 2.3 ltr) 10:1 comp, dual dcoe45 carbs with 38mm chokes, headers, etc etc.
Not sure what power it makes prob c/170bhp. The regrind 300 deg cam (with modest lift) and modest compression are the weak points. It’s starts to fall over about 6500rpm. A schrick 304 cam will be installed at some stage which will make prob 190-200bhp at best. For a 4cyl from yesteryear they are a pretty impressive engine. U may be better off cost wise with the m20 2.5 from the e34 as std make about 170bhp and it’s no prob to make 350-400bhp from one.
