No different sized internals and VS has different yoke to VY.

Yes it will bolt up into position, but tailshaft wont mate.

May need to take into account if they are different ratio's,
Being the PPK may need to be updated/adjusted, because the speedo may be out.

V6 or V8?

As far as I know, the V6 models continued with the M78(75/76) for the V6 models, the V8 models have the larger M80.

So you really need to check under the VY and see what diff is fitted. IF it is a V6 M78 than a LSD from a VS will fit as long as the LSD also came from a IRS car as there is a extra groove inside the side gear in the centre that retains the drive hub for the drive axle. This is one the basis that you swap the VS LSD centre in the VY diff.

Early vt v6 diffs had M75 internals but probably different flange for tailshaft.

Vaguely remember Ls1 mob during race for 11's era getting ripped off wanted 4.11 gears to find out m75 internals.

If look it up might find info on early vt v6 having 3.08 single spinners before going to normal 3.07 diffs

My 2000 VT has 3.08 gears. Only the V8's and Super 6's got the larger M80's and the factory service manual confirms this.

This should help identify the diff under the VY,

Diffs with 3.08 ratio will be the smaller M75 gear seats with M78 LSD 4 spider centre also referred to as M76 (which is what I assume is the designator for IRS centres with the extra groove to retain the side drive hubs)

Hmm, Interesting,
My Super6 didn't come with a LSD, [Ratio 3.07:1]
However, I have since changed it a few years ago to an LSD [3.07:1].

That would have been optional. Our VX did but it wasn't working but that may have been caused by the use of the wrong diff fluid.
