Main Page Vs Forums

ive noticed that the forums load really quickly and that the main page is a tad slugish in comparison....just wondering if it is just me or if its set so there is more bandwidth allocated to the forums?

It's not your imagination Gobbles, the amount of data which loads in the main page is almost beyond relief, I have tried to streamline it but it just doesn't have the same impact as it does on the forum.

Lately I've been looking at possibilities of a complete redesign of the main page which isn't dependant on a DB meaning the forum will be once again single like it used to be but that's still in consideration mode at present.
