Why is there discussion that the K&N filter will damage the turbo? I have seen these in many cars and no problems. Some contructive views would be good as I just fitted one!

It's more to do with the foam mushroom filters. The story is that the foam disintegrates over time and eventually get sucked into the engine. If it actually happens or not, I don't know.

Thanks RJK, that sounds more logical.

Have to be used and abused filter then.

Would have to think a person whom has a turbo will maintain the filter if they installed it.

Only an issue with the foam filters. It's all hearsay though I can't imagine there being much left of the foam after it's gone through the turbo.
