I did some research and development re NA induction recently. FWIW below is an overview of induction mods ordered in a hierarchy of positive impact (daily driving across the board):
*I include VVT because with our GM version (DCVCP) is mainly about programming the cam phaser to vary the intake valve closing event. By comparison this can have greater impact on tuning torque and power than all incremental VE enhancing devices above combined. Nothing does a better job to widen the power band and increase efficiency.
- Ported throttle
- Aux air dam
- Ported intake
- Tuned MAF tube
- Air straightener
- Radius bars (RamAir / rod mod)
- Variable length intake runners (VLIM)
- CAI
- OTR CAI
- Active fuel management
- Variable valve timing*
