Ecotec swapped HG Kingswood
I am new to this V6 business, but I picked up a good running, low km VS Ecotec for $75. The plan is to drop it into my Rodeo daily with a Getrag 5 speed.

I plan on doing some mods after engineering, so I need something tunable. I have been researching but am more confused, so need it to be dumbed down.

1) I don't have a harness or ECU/ PCM. Which should I get? VS or VY?

2) Do I need to get a manual harness / ECU or can it be modded?

3) Is there a preferred part number i should look for?

Thanks

I'm not going to spend $$$ on a $75 motor in a $2k ute, so no Haltech etc

It's getting much harder to find people that can tune the factory PCM. In Queensland I know of one person that will do it.

Start by finding your tuner and basically just buy whatever they tell you to get because they're the ones who are going to have to get it working.

Otherwise you could always ring mace and find out just how much they can do for you with a mail order memcal.
